Kylah Benes-Trapp is a visual artist from Santa Cruz California currently based in New York. She works across the mediums of illustration, photography and collage animation and has recently begun writing for film. Her first short film ‘Heather’ was selected to participate in the 2018 Tribeca Film Institute ‘through her lens’ women's filmmaker program and her series participated in Refinery 29 and Kate Spade’s ‘Pilot Season’ lab. kylah is also 1/3 of New York-based film screening series ‘the Magic Hour.’
Kylah started out at online news platform Elite daily where she worked as a format coordinator, then photo editor and illustrator/graphic designer from 2013 to 2017. She then worked as a digital media manager for Gum Studios from 2017-2018 and currently works as a content director & graphic designer for art collective / freelance agency Slug.
